LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Police in Lafayette are investigating whether the death of a 16-year-old found early Tuesday morning is connected with an attempted armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver just hours earlier.

Lafayette Police Department officers were called to the 3900 block of Amelia Avenue around 7 a.m. for a report of a person found dead.

The Tippecanoe County Coroner identified the body as Keiandre Holt, 16. Holt's death is being investigated as a homicide at this time. No details about his death have been released.

Lafayette police also responded to an attempted armed robbery of a pizza delivery man in the same area about 6 hours before Holt's body was found. The victim told police he was making a delivery when a male suspect tried to rob him. The victim told police that he fired a gun at the suspect and he fled the scene.

At this time, police are still investigating whether the two incidents are related.

Anyone with any information on either incident is encouraged to contact the Lafayette Police Department at 765-807-1200, or through the anonymous We-TIP hotline at 800-78-CRIME.
