MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. -- Two mushroom hunters found the body of a man near a trail in Miami County on Saturday morning.
Officers with Indiana State Police, Miami County Sheriff's Department, and conservation officers from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources were called to an area near State Road 124 and Miami County Road 510 East around 10:20 a.m.
ISP detectives say the mushroom hunters were in a wooded area on the Okie Pinokie Trail when they reportedly found the man's body.
He has been identified as Drake Allan Smith, 22, of Summitville, Ind.
The investigation is ongoing, but officers say they are treating Smith's death as a homicide.
