RUSHVILLE — A jury found a Rush County pastor who had been accused of molesting children in his congregation not guilty.

Garry Evans, 73, was acquitted of all 14 criminal charges against him last week in a case in which he had been charged with molesting at least six girls inside his office at Rushville Baptist Temple where he was pastor at the time.

Police arrested Evans in October 2017 after the girls accused Evans of luring them into the office with candy and then touching them inappropriately.
