SOUTH BEND — Domino's is going to help fix some of the broken roads in one Indiana city.

Domino's says they received an "overwhelming number of nominations" from residents of South Bend, which led to the city being selected to receive one of the company's "Paving for Pizza" grants.

“Cracks, bumps and potholes can easily ruin a good carryout pizza, and nobody wants that,” Glenn Mueller, South Bend Domino’s franchise owner, said. “We’re thrilled that South Bend was selected as a grant recipient to help smooth the ride home for our carryout customers.”

Domino's began asking for nominations for the "Paving for Pizza" program in June 2018. The pizza franchise says it received more than 137,000 nominations from 15,275 different zip codes in all 50 states. Due to the large response, the company decided to pick one city in each state to award a grant to — and South Bend won for Indiana.
