Three Indiana cities listed in top 50 most dangerous large cities in America

WASHINGTON, DC — The National Council for Home Safety and Security released a study on Monday that revealed the most dangerous cities in America.

Indiana had at least one of four cities named in all five alarms.org's categories: Top 100 Most Dangerous Cities in America, Top 100 Most Dangerous Large Cities in America, Cities with the highest increase in violent crime, Large cities with the highest increase in violent crime, and Large cities averaged violent crime rate with increase in violent crime.

Indianapolis ranked at number 41 on the Top 100 most dangerous cities in America, number 22 in the Top 100 most Dangerous Large Cities in America and number 99 on the large cities averaged violent crime rate with increase in violent crime.

Evansville ranked at number 40 in the Top 100 most dangerous large cities in America, number 45 in large cities with the highest increase in violent crime and number 38 in large cities averaged violent crime rate increase in violent crime.

South Bend ranked at number 49 in top 100 most dangerous large cities in America. And, finally, Vincennes was ranked at number 33 on the cities with the highest increase in violent crime.

In the alarms.org report, the NCHSS analyzes publicly-available Federal Bureau of Investigation crime data and population figures. The report highlights the cities with the highest rate of crime per capita and those with the most significant increase in violence throughout the year.
