INDIANAPOLIS — Employees at businesses near the Subway where an employee was shot and killed during a robbery Monday evening say they are concerned about their safety.

Hans Pizarro, an employee at Buona Pizza, says he saw three suspects walking away from Subway and heard people screaming as they went to see what was going on.

Two years ago, he says he was robbed twice about a year ago while he was working at the pizza joint next door to the Subway.

"I was scared for my life because I have to support my family," Pizarro said. "I take care of my family. I have my daughters."

The employee killed on Monday, Ashok Kaumar, 35, was his friend.

"He's a really good guy," Pizarro said. "Always nice, happy, smiling. It's very sad for him and his family."

Pizarro hopes police will increase its patrols in the area or add more security before it affects business in the area.

Police are still searching for the suspects. If you have any information on the incident or the suspects, you are asked to call IMPD homicide detectives at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
