INDIANAPOLIS — Continual power outages is an issue for many people across the central Indiana area. Most time, it's caused by downed trees or severe weather.
Although, people who live in the Hill Valley Estates neighborhood on the city's south side said they lose power even on a sunny day.
One resident said that power outages had been an issue for as long as his family has lived in the neighborhood - 26 years.
"I would say at least a couple times a year, two to three times a year," Bob Davis said.
Another family who moved into the neighborhood two years ago said they're even having regrets.
"From my perspective, six times in two years? The last time we were like, what have we done?" Dan Vincent said. "We are going to move!"
Neighbors said, of course, lose power when it's windy or lousy weather ensues, but sometimes it's a sunny day with no wind.
"It was like in the middle of the summer, a sunny day, no wind and the power just goes out," Vincent said. "Like four hours. I said, 'that's ridiculous!'"
Just last month, a family endured 30 hours without power in their home.
The neighbors are frustrated. They said that when they try to call Indianapolis Power & Light for answers, it's as if they "fall on deaf ear."
"I'd like to get some answers to find out why we are more susceptible to power outages than the outside of the circle," Davis said.
