INDIANAPOLIS — It was the last order of the night.

Zac Shewmaker was finishing his shift at Greek's Pizzeria before heading home. After he got out of his car at East 40th and Ruckle Streets on the north side of Indianapolis, Shewmaker walked up to the front door and someone came up behind him.

"He pulled out a gun, pointed it at my face and I was kind of stuck there frozen," Shewmaker said. "Oh, it's scary. Before this, my biggest fear was someone opens their door and their dog eats me. But now it's getting robbed."

The suspect took off with his car and everything inside it, including his laptop he uses at school.

"Pretty much all of my clothes and music equipment was in my car because I was moving at the time. So I didn't get that back," Shewmaker said.

The incident happened about two weeks after an Anderson woman was robbed while delivering food for DoorDash.

Shewmaker said he learned similar robberies have happened in the same location.

"And then they actually used my car to commit three robberies. They hit a liquor store, a gas station and something else," he said.

Two days later, the car returned to the same area it was stolen.

"At the time I didn't know that one of my coworkers actually had again his car jacked a month earlier. So the same joint got victimized. It's been happening a lot," Shewmaker said.

Police said Shewmaker's case is an ongoing investigation and no arrests have been made.

"I hope those guys get caught because they're obviously doing it a lot and pizza drivers are some of the most vulnerable guys out there," Shewmaker said. "If you're a delivery driver, it's not worth it. Do something else."
