INDIANAPOLIS — A van used to transport senior citizens in Johnson County was recovered after it was stolen more than a week ago from a hospital parking lot.

The van was recovered Saturday by Johnson County Senior Services, said Kimberly Smith, who works for the organization.

Police in Indianapolis were able to recover the van at a McDonald's on Southeastern Avenue Saturday morning, Smith said. They believe someone was living in the van and says it will take some time to clean up.

"We are so grateful to receive our vehicle back in one piece," Smith said. "The things inside, yes we have to get that processed and detailed there are a million things we have to do in order to put a precious senior on here."

At this time, it is unknown if anyone has been arrested in connection with the incident.
