INDIANAPOLIS —Several businesses on the east side of Indianapolis say they have been the target of a repeat thief who is stealing truck batteries. Now they are out thousands of dollars.

"Sunday morning he came and parked and you can see in the video a truck pulls in and it scares him and he leaves, then a few minutes later he comes back to finish the job," Bryan Holloway, co-owner of Advanced Office Logistics, said.

He said it costs the company $800 a truck every time he steals a battery. The suspect has taken at least three batteries from Holloway's business.

The suspect has been caught on security cameras a number of times from at least four businesses on Sunday. They were seen driving a two-tone van with a missing bumper.

On Jan. 6, the same van was seen when nine batteries were taken from the same parking lot. On Dec. 26, the van was also seen behind a business near East 16th Street and North Sherman Drive.

"These batteries are showing up somewhere," Holloway said. "Three brand new batteries got taken somewhere yesterday and got turned in for a core charge of like 40 bucks a piece and then we are out $4,000 dollars in a week in stolen batteries."

Holloway is asking other businesses to team up and help get the suspect off the streets.
