DELPHI — A family running two separate businesses in Carroll County found a solution to help first responders as they now are wearing face coverings full-time.
Hometown Shirts and Ikonik Graphix in Delphi are making and donating mask hooks.
They allow first responders to put the elastic bands of their face coverings around their head instead of ears. This helps address complaints of sore ears and masks not fitting tightly.
The businesses have donated more than 36,000 hooks to hospitals and law enforcement agencies around the country.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office in Florida sent a certificate and letter of appreciation.
Donations and sales of the "No Touch Handle" tool help support the production of the mask hooks.
