HANCOCK COUNTY — Several organizations are working to distribute protective masks to truck drivers in Indiana during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Masks will be distributed on Friday at rest areas near the 107 mile-marker of Interstate 70 in Hancock County and the rest area near the 43 mile-marker of Interstate 94 in LaPorte County, according to Indiana State Police.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Indiana State Police, and Indiana Motor Truck Association will help distribute the masks.

One million masks were provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to FMCSA to distribute to truck drivers across the nation.
