Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are a classic candy that nearly everyone loves. Of course, the traditional cups are great, but their seasonal shapes are a fun twist on the old familiar. To go with the various holidays throughout the year, there are Easter eggs, pumpkins, trees and hearts.

For the upcoming winter holiday season, the iconic candy company is offering something brand-new: Reese’s Mystery Shapes. They’re the first new holiday shapes released by The Hershey Company in 20 years.

If you feel that the holiday shapes taste better (or at least different) than the cups, you’re not alone. It may all come down to the peanut-butter-to-chocolate ratio, and the new Mystery Shapes will have the “perfect” balance, according to Anna Lingeris, a company spokesperson.

As for the actual shapes, they really are a mystery! “The shapes are a secret we’ll never tell … because your guess is as good as ours!” Lingeris told Better Homes  & Gardens.

The Mystery Shapes are already available nationwide at major retailers, including Walgreens and Walmart.

“These delicious treats come in an array of seasonally themed shapes, making them perfect as gifts or stocking stuffers,” reads the product description.

The staff at Better Homes & Gardens got to try out a bag, and they were pretty stumped on the shapes. Their best guesses were a snowman, a bell and a stocking or perhaps Santa Claus’ boot. As for the all-important peanut-butter-to-chocolate ratio, they felt that there was a little bit more peanut butter than chocolate, which is, of course, perfect.

Each bag contains three individually wrapped surprise shapes, so it’s really a gamble as to what you’ll get — not to mention whether you’ll be able to tell what the shapes are!

Are you excited to give Reese’s Peanut Butter Mystery Shapes a try this holiday season?
