Colts QB Jacoby Brissett named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS —Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for week 7, the team announced Wednesday.

It is the first time in his career that Brissett has earned the award.

During Sunday's 30-23 win over the Houston Texans, Brissett completed 26 of 39 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns for a 126.7 passer rating. Brissett established new single-game career highs in passing yards, passing touchdowns and passer rating.

This season, Brissett has started all six games for the Colts and has completed 134 of 206 passes for 1,388 yards with 14 touchdowns and three interceptions for a 101.0 passer rating. He has also registered 29 carries for 72 yaards and one rushing touchdown.

Brissett ranks fourth in the NFL in passing touchdowns and 10th in passer rating. He has thrown two or more touchdown passes in five games this season, which is tied for the most in the NFL.

Brissett is the second Colts player to earn AFC Player of the Week honors this season. Defensive end Justin Houston was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for week 5.
