INDIANAPOLIS – Holocaust survivor Eva Mozes Kor visited the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Monday where she was presented a bottle of milk by racing legend Mario Andretti.
During her time at the IMS, Kor tweeted:

Kor, 83, was captured by the Nazis and entered Auschwitz in 1944 as a 10-year-old, along with others who were used as “human Guinea pigs.”
She eventually moved to Terre Haute after serving in the Israeli army and received her American citizenship in 1965.
Two decades later, Kor founded the Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab Experiments Survivors museum in Terre Haute.
In April, she was named the grand marshal of the 500 Festival Parade and was presented with Indiana’s highest honor – the Sachem Award.

Despite her childhood experience, she is often found preaching forgiveness.
“Often, I am asked, ‘How can anyone forgive the Nazis?’” she said. “I always answer with a question: ‘Do I deserve to be free from what they have done to me?’ Of course, is the answer. My forgiveness is an act of self-healing, self-liberation and self-empowerment.”
During her IMS visit, Kor got a chance to size up the winner’s trophy at the museum and meet up with Gov. Eric Holcomb and the state’s first lady, Janet Holcomb.
