Mayor Hogsett declares Friday 'Gold Out Day' as Indiana Pacers head into the playoffs

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett has declared Friday "Gold Out Day" in honor of the Indiana Pacers as they head their first game of the 2019 playoffs this weekend.

The Pacers have made the playoffs for four years straight and this will be the team's eighth appearance in the last nine postseasons.

Hogsett is encouraging Hoosiers to wear blue and gold gear on Friday ahead of the team's first-round game against the Boston Celtics on Sunday evening.

The Pacers vs Celtics was the only matchup in the NBA that was set up before Wednesday night.

The fifth-seeded Pacers will take on the fourth-seeded Celtics starting Sunday evening.
