Tamika Catchings announced as a Basketball Hall of Fame nominee

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Fever legend Tamika Catchings has been nominated for this year's Naismith Memorial Basketball of Hall of Fame class.

Catchings, who played for the Fever from 2002-2016 after a college career at the University of Tennessee, will be on the ballot alongside Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett, among others, the hall of fame announced in a release.

A press conference announcing the finalists will be held Feb. 14 during the NBA All-Star Weekend, while the 2020 inductees will be named during the NCAA Final Four in Atlanta in early April.

The enshrinement ceremony will take place Aug. 29 in Springfield, Mass.
