BROWNSBURG — A program in Brownsburg is targeting students with special needs, to help them develop the skills they need to excel in their future.

Brownsburg High School has teamed up with local restaurants and offer internships to those students so they can build their workable skills and their resumes.

Students in the program learn hard skills like how to wash dishes and clean the kitchen, along with soft skills like communication and etiquette.

There are currently 24 students in the program. So far, 20 different businesses have connected with join Collaborators for Success.

The students in the life skills and functional skills classes that are part of the program can stay at Brownsburg High School until they are 22, so they can continue to build on their knowledge before having to go out into the workforce.
