Fall may have arrived, but that doesn't mean we're clear from the threat of severe weather. Looking back to 1950, we notice a secondary spike in severe storms and tornado activity across Central Indiana in October and November.
Last fall was fairly quiet, but November of 2017 brought multiple rounds of severe weather. On one of those occasions, three tornadoes touched down. Photos below from the National Weather Service in Indianapolis show some of the damage left behind from the November 3rd twisters. One of the tornadoes was rated an EF-2 with top winds of 134 mph. One person was injured, as the storm tracked 39 miles from near Eaton into NW Ohio.
