JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. -- A woman tasked with supervising correctional inmates is accused of sexual misconduct with one of those housed in the prison.

Army Sgt. Heather Sinnett, 27, was assigned to Atterbury/Edinburgh Correctional Facility at the time Bradley Gulledge was housed at the facility.

According to a probable cause affidavit submitted by Indiana Department of Corrections lead investigator Fernell Keith McDonald, Sinnett and Gulledge had sex in October 2016, resulting in Sinnett becoming pregnant.

She was in charge of escorting or supervising the offenders, as she used to be a correctional officer, according to the court document.

In the investigation, McDonald tried to interview Sinnett. Sinnett said she wanted a lawyer, but while leaving the interview, she said, "He didn't rape me!"

McDonald also discovered a phone call between Gulledge and Sinnett from November 2016. In the call, Gulledge and Sinnett discuss the sexual encounter that resulted in her pregnancy. Gulledge referenced how "hurried and brief" the encounter was. Sinnett replied "it was enough [to make her pregnant]."

McDonald also interviewed Gulledge, who is considered a victim in the crime.

Sinnett is preliminarily charged with sexual misconduct, a Level 5 felony.
