INDIANAPOLIS -- A problem with the tip line for Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana was fixed late Saturday night.

  • Calls to the Crime Stoppers tip line after hours were supposed to be transferred to another center where someone will answer the line
  • Instead, callers were getting a message about dialing a ten digit number instead of one with seven digits
  • Crime Stoppers implemented a new quality control process where members of the group's board of directors to call the tip line at random to make sure it works
  • Steve Dubois, Director of Crime Stoppers, says call forwarding needed to be reprogrammed and that has been taken care of
  • You can report tips through the Crime Stoppers app or go to their website
