CARMEL, Ind. – Carmel leaders have considered a plan that may allow people to drive golf carts on city streets.

People who live on or near golf courses in Carmel want to be allowed to drive their carts short distances, but some people are concerned about safety.

"We are going to discuss whether golf carts are allowed on any city streets, and if they are allowed on certain streets what are the restrictions. What miles per hour can they travel? Can they only go on certain streets near golf courses? All that is open for debate,” said Councilwoman Sue Finkam.

City officials addressed the plan Monday night but no decisions were made.
