Dog found in dumpster gets adopted

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. -- The sad story of a dog that had been left in a dumpster in Boone County now has a happy ending.

A dog was found and rescued on March 11 after being found in a dumpster near a construction site near the Clark Meadows subdivision.

The Humane Society for Boone County said the beagle mix, named Ray, has been adopted by one of the officers who helped rescue him from the dumpster.

At the time of the rescue, Humane Society workers said it's possible the dog could've crawled in on its own, looking for food.
