BOWLING GREEN, KY. -- Four adults and one teen from Beech Grove were killed in a violent crash on Interstate 65 in Kentucky on their way home from Florida.

The crash happened around 10:38 p.m. near mile marker 30 in Bowling Green.

Kentucky State Police say a tractor-trailer and two passenger vans were stationary when another tractor-trailer hit one of the vans, causing a chain-reaction crash.

Warren County Coroner Kevin Kirby said six people from Beech Grove were in one of those vans. A young child in that van was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Kirby identified the victims as family members Lonny D. Boster, 59, Lonny D. Boster, 30, Jonell Boster, 48, Carl Boster, 17 and a family friend, Robert Hogan, 74.

The family was traveling back to Beech Grove after vacationing in Florida, according to Kirby.

The driver of the second van was also killed in the crash. His identity has not been released.

Both semi drivers were uninjured.

Neighbors of the Boster's in Beech Grove said they were upset by the news.

"It just really shakes me up," said Pam Gearlds. "You know, you never know when you see somebody if it's going to be the last time you ever see them."

Several friends of Carl Boster stopped by the family home on Friday night to say their goodbyes.

No charges have been filed at this time.
