GREENCASTLE, Ind. – A Florida woman trapped in Greencastle, Indiana due to Hurricane Irma, may be forced to miss the birth of her grandchild.

Kimberly Smith said her flight to Florida was scheduled for Sunday, but her airline notified her the trip to Orlando was canceled.

"My daughter is right at eight-and-a-half months pregnant with my second grandson, a little boy that will be named Hunter,” said Smith. “She had quite difficulties with the first child, plus now she has heart problems. I'm away from my only child and I'm really quite nervous about that."

She said she’s not only upset about possibly missing the delivery, but is worried about the essentials she’s lacking. Smith said she doesn’t have any medications beyond a week’s supply or extra money. Her pets are also a concern as Orlando may have to evacuate soon.

"I lived through Hurricane Charlie, Andrew, Gene, Francis, Keith, a lot of hurricanes. But, nothing has been this big. This thing engulfs the entire state. So, it's really scary,” said Smith.
