LAWRENCE — A man was found shot to death inside of a vehicle in Lawrence early Thursday morning, according to the Lawrence Police Department.
Around 4:30 a.m., police were called to the 5400 Block of Calder Way on reports of shots fired in an apartment complex near East 56h Street and Interstate 465.
Officers later found a man shot to death inside of a vehicle in that general area. Detectives say they believe he was shot from outside the vehicle.
The man was identified as Lavon Dixon, 29, of Indianapolis, LPD Deputy Chief Gary Woodruff said.
LPD says there is no suspect at this time, and the shooting is under investigation.
