INDIANAPOLIS — The teen charged with killing two teen siblings last year in their home claims the shooting started as an accident, according to court documents filed on Monday.
Many of the details surrounding the murders of Ashlynn Nelson, 15, and Nicholas Nelson, 16, remain unclear because several key pieces of information filed against the teen accused of killing them, Lometreus Sanders, have been redacted on the documents filed by the juvenile court system.

Those documents were made available on Monday after a juvenile court judge waived the case against Lometreus to adult court.
In that probable cause affidavit, Lometreus gave his story to detectives, claiming that the altercation began when Nicholas came into the room with a gun. He said he and Ashlynn had been dating "for a few weeks" before the shooting. On that morning, Lometreus said he had thrown some pebbles at her window before to get her attention and was invited inside.
Lometreus told detectives that he and Ashlynn went into the bedroom and something happened when her brother, Nicholas, came through the door with a gun in his hand, according to those court documents.
Lometreus said he wrestled with Nicholas and the gun fell to the floor. He then fell on top of the gun and it "went off a few times, striking the brother," court documents said. The fight then went out to the landing where someone jumped on Lometreus and pulled his hoodie down over his face. At that point, Lometreus told detectives he was afraid so he shot Ashlynn in the head and then shot Nicholas again.
Lometreus said he picked up the shell casings, the gun and his cell phone and put them all inside the pocket of his hoodie, according to court documents. He told detectives he also took a video game controller from the apartment that he had bought from one of the siblings.
After fleeing from the home, investigators say Lometreus was stopped by an officer who was attempting to take him into custody when he broke free and ran from the scene. He said he later had someone drive him to the White River where he threw his hoodie and his shoes into the water.
Lometreus has been charged with two counts of murder, dangerous possession of a firearm by a child and carrying a handgun without a license. He's currently being held without bond.
Lometreus' next court appearance has been scheduled for February 25.
