West side school lockdown lifted after police search

INDIANAPOLIS -- A lockdown at a west-side elementary school was lifted after police located a man with an open warrant. 

A spokesperson with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said officers tried to stop an individual with a warrant. The man fled near Maplewood Elementary, police say.

While police searched for the person, Maplewood was on lockdown.The man was caught about an hour later, and the lockdown was lifted.
