GREENFIELD, Ind. -- Police in Greenfield are investigating a possible child abduction attempt that happened Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the area of Greenfield Village Apartments in the 1600 block of Village Drive West around 7:15 a.m.

A woman told them that her daughter had seen a burnt orange, 4-door midsize passenger car make several laps around the apartment complex before it stopped at the bus stop.

The driver reportedly asked the girl to get in his car, but the bus arrived around the same time and she got onto the bus instead.

The driver of the car was described as a white male with a buzz hair cut wearing a black shirt.

The Greenfield Police Department asks anyone who has seen a vehicle matching that description in the area of Greenfield Village Apartments Tuesday morning to contact them at (317) 477-4410.
