INDIANAPOLIS -- A four-year-old child received a life-saving gift on his birthday last week, and it came from an unexpected angel.

Henry Whittacre was just your average little boy, except for the fact that he had to visit the hospital several times each week for dialysis. His mother, Emily, spoke to RTV6 back in March about how wonderful the treatments are, but how she wanted more for her son and they were looking forward tot he day when he could be a healthy kid once again.

Shortly after our story aired, Emily put a plea out on social media and it wasn't long before her family's angel responded.

Colleen Carnes was one of Emily's childhood friends but the two hadn't spoken for years. Colleen says that didn't matter, she knew after reading the post that she had to try and help.

After getting tested, Colleen learned she was a match and says she never thought twice about the decision.

"It's the make a difference - do something great - at some point in your life," said Colleen.
