Man shot, killed during altercation outside taco restaurant on Indy's northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS -- A man is dead after being shot during an altercation at a restaurant on Indianapolis' northeast side Friday night. 

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the scene at Paco's Taqueria in the 4300 block of North Keystone around 9:30 p.m. 

Police say a man claims he shot another man who was attacking him outside the restaurant and then ran away. The shooter later called the police saying he had shot someone. 

Police say the man who was shot died on the restaurant property. His identity has not been released. 

The shooter is cooperating with IMPD and no arrests have been made at this time. 

The shooting remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
