INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a Marion County Sheriff’s Office squad car was shot at multiple times early Saturday morning.

The car was parked in the 4000 block of Broadway Street when someone fired multiple shots at the vehicle around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, according to reports obtained by Call 6.

The reports go onto say the suspects attempted to take the deputy’s police laptop and rifle, which were inside the vehicle, but they were unsuccessful. The report says a set of various city and department keys were stolen from inside the vehicle.

Call 6 sources said Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers located a vehicle believed to be driven by one of the suspects in the 5300 block of North Park Ave, later Saturday morning.

Multiple calls to the Public Information Officer for the Marion County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday weren’t returned on Saturday.
