GREENFIELD, Ind. -- There is now a ban on backyard archery in the city of Greenfield, Indiana.

The ordinance passed last week, 6-1.

Under the new rules, the only place you're able to shoot is at an archery range.

Shooting guns, including airsoft or BB guns, is not allowed in backyards in Greenfield.

The bow-and-arrow proposal came after some people complained about bows being used near kids and pets.

"I think if you have a privacy fence and use common sense, then do what you want," Karen Wadley of Greenfield said in March. "But if not and you have small kids around, then it's a safety issue."

The Greenfield mayor previously said he is in favor of the proposal and bows should be classified the same as other shooting equipment.
