INDIANAPOLIS -- In a surprise to pretty much nobody in the Hoosier state, two Indiana cities are great basketball towns.
Bloomington, Indiana and Indianapolis were named on NCAA.com's list of nine great college basketball towns.
Bloomington obviously has Indiana University and its storied history -- national championships in 1940, 1953, 1976, 1981 and 1987. The site also mentioned the candy cane-striped pants, as a much a staple of IU basketball as Assembly Hall itself.

Indianapolis has two big things going for it when it comes to college basketball. The city has hosted the Final Four six times since 1991, and the Butler Bulldogs. The Bulldogs' home court, Hinkle Fieldhouse, first opened in 1928. If you're counting, that's 89 years of Indianapolis basketball.
