GREENFIELD, Ind. -- A former Mt. Vernon substitute teacher is now headed to prison after repeatedly violating the terms of her probation for sleeping with students.

Kisha Nuckols appeared in Hancock Circuit Court on Friday after being arrested in January on a warrant for violating her probation.

Nuckols pleaded guilty in November 2016 to one count of child seduction for an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student. The student told investigators he and Nuckols had sex at least 10 times at her home, and that she would send him inappropriate photographs.

Nuckols eventually admitted to the relationship, as well as relationships with at least five other Mt. Vernon Schools students. She was sentenced to two years on home detention and two years on probation.

In July 2017, Nuckols was taken back into custody on a probation violation after her probation officer saw that Nuckols had updated her Facebook profile and cover pictures within the past week. In one of the pictures, Nuckols was allegedly holding a glass that “appeared to be a frozen mixed drink.”

During a subsequent search of her home, officers found 14 bottles of alcohol along with a red plastic cup with chilled wine next to her bed.

Officers also found a smartphone belonging to Nuckols that she had not registered with the Sex Offender Registry. On the phone, they reportedly found pornographic images of Nuckols, along with the Snapchat and Facebook Messenger apps – which she had also not registered having with the Sex Offender Registry and which would violate her no-social-media probation condition.

In December, Nuckols was found to have violated her probation on at least two occasions – at least one involving her continued possession of an unregistered smartphone.

Following her arrest in January, Nuckols was ordered held without bond pending a sentencing review hearing.

On Friday, Hancock Circuit Court Judge Richard D. Culver ordered Nuckols to serve the remainder of her four-year sentence in the Indiana Department of Correction. The court filing notes that Nuckols’ probation was “terminated unsuccessfully.”

Nuckols will receive credit for 482 days already served. She will be required to register as a sex offender upon her release.
