GRANT COUNTY, Ind. -- A program aimed at attracting and keeping skilled workers in Grant County offers them money toward a down payment on a home.

"Grants for Grads" provides up to $5,000 for down payments and closing costs if you purchase a home in Grant County in exchange for an agreement that you will stay in the community for at least five years.

Architect Michelle Doyle says she wanted to live in a big city after graduating from Ball State University until she learned about the grant program.

"Marion is a great place to live. It has so much to offer," said Doyle. "If you give it a chance you want to stay here, you get passionate about it you love it."
