WHITE COUNTY, Ind. -- Two people were injured when their boat struck a tree in White County, Indiana.

The incident happened Saturday on Lake Shafer.

The 2014 Moomba Runabout Ski Boat crashed into an overhanging tree, rendering the driver unconscious. The boat continued until it ran aground into a bank.

The driver, Jason Ward, 44, was flown from IU White Memorial Hospital in a Lifeline Helicopter. His condition is unknown.

Two other passengers were injured.

According to a news release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, speed and alcohol are believed to be a factor in the incident.
