Man likely suffered medical emergency before deadly crash, according to IMPD

INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead after a crash on Indianapolis' southwest side early Wednesday morning.

Indianapolis Metroplitan Police Department officers responded to the scene in the 5200 block of Kentucky Avenue just after 4 a.m. Arriving officers found an unresponsive male driver inside the vehicle.

That driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Investigators believe the man suffered a medical emergency which caused him to drive off the roadway and crash. No other vehicles were involved in the accident and no one else was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The Marion County Coroner will determine the man's cause of death.

The accident remains under investigation by IMPD.
