INDIANAPOLIS -- Police have arrested a woman in connection with one of Indianapolis' first homicides of the year.
On Jan. 7, 2018, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 3000 block of N. California Street. They found 67-year-old William Sullivan dead inside a house. He appeared to have an open wound on his chest.
According to court documents filed by police, a friend of Sullivan's had been staying at the home the night of the incident and said Gibson and Sullivan had been fighting "on and off" throughout the night.
The witness told police he went to bed around 11 p.m. and woke up the next morning to find Sullivan unconscious and suffering from stab wounds. Gibson had left the home sometime during the night.
Police also recovered DNA from the scene that placed Gibson in the room with Sullivan on the night he was murdered.
