FORTVILLE, Ind. -- One person is dead and another was airlifted after a two-vehicle crash in Hancock County Wednesday evening. 

The crash happened just before 10 p.m. on SR 67 near IN-234, according to dispatchers with Hancock County 911. 

Police at the scene said a Buick Century crashed into a Chrysler Town and Country. There were no signs of braking before impact, investigators said.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released. A second person was flown to the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time. 

Police have not said if anyone else was involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
