INDIANAPOLIS -- An INDOT salt truck was involved in a crash near Indianapolis' North Split Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 5 a.m., in the westbound lanes of I-70. The crash didn't completely shut down traffic, but one lane was blocked in the area. Around 8 a.m., all lanes of I-70 re-opened.
About 250 gallons of diesel fuel spilled into the road, making the cleanup more difficult.
According to INDOT, the salt truck had a mechanical failure that led to it hitting the guardrail. The driver was unhurt, and no other vehicles were involved.
INDOT is still investigating the mechanical failure.
