INDIANAPOLIS -- A man arrested after firing nearly a dozen shots at officers during a traffic stop Sunday evening and then barricading himself inside a home for several hours had a warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear on charges of resisting arrest and driving without a license.
Police arrested Ryan McGill, 27, after a several hour standoff at a home near Belmont Avenue and Lambert Street.
He's now charged with two counts of attempted murder and robbery.
The incident started as a traffic stop near the intersection of Howard and Shepard streets just after 7 p.m. Sunday.

Shortly after pulling over McGill's vehicle, someone inside fired at least ten shots at the officers who were still inside the cruiser.
The passenger in that vehicle jumped out and surrendered to police but the driver, who police identified as McGill, took off from the scene.
The two officers were not hit by the gunfire but several shots did strike their vehicle, including the front windshield, shattering glass everywhere.
Police then searched the area, knocking on doors until they located the house McGill had entered. After a nearly five hour standoff police broke down the door of the home and took McGill into custody.
