INDIANAPOLIS -- With parking passes inside the track sold out, and because of the huge crowds Sunday, a lot of people are scrambling to find a way to get to the race.
One solution: Bike to the track. Hundreds of cyclists will come together for the first time Sunday to ride to the track together.
"Bicycling's a really great option to get out to the track for the race," said Jessica Hall, of Bicycle Indiana. "I've done it the past few years in a smaller group, so I'm really looking forward to seeing several hundred people in a mass roll out to the track for the 100th running of the Indy 500."
Ten bucks will get you into a pre-race party at the City Market from 7-9 a.m. Sunday. At 9:30 a.m., complete with a police escort, you'll then roll out to the track and free, supervised bike parking behind Daredevil Brewing Company on Main Street.
The pedal and park lot behind Daredevil will be free to anyone riding their bikes – you don't need to attend the pre-race party to use it.
